Lilacs...

Walking to work, I saw a bush of lilacs that were bright cherry red. It was striking - I'd never seeb such a thing.

It was lovely.

I've never seen anything like that either, and we have a lot of lilacs in TO. They're all either white or ... lilac.

Yup, exactly. White or lilac. Sometimes darker shades of lilac, sometimes lighter.

I could hardly believe my eyes.

Seems to me that every year now I see variations of flowers in people's gardens that I never saw before.

Nor have I seen anything quite like it. I wonder if the lilacs were embarrassed somehow ... :-)
