Inspired by sparklebutch, who pointed me to 1sentence, I have been working on a writing challenge... or perhaps I should say, playing with one. The trick is to take 50 key words and write something with each, with a certain pairing. Since I'm doing this for my own amusement and not for the 1sentence community, I'm not just doing sentences, I'm doing passages. And I'm not doing a pairing, I'm doing a character, John Constantine.

And I've been writing most of the evening and I only finished 25 of the things. Gad, I'm slow.

But it's fun to play in the DC universe for a change.

That's an interesting community. I may try it myself for a writing exercise. Although I'm not sure I understand how it works - one sentence for each word/theme, and the sentences have to be in order and fit together to make a story? The entries I browsed through were a little disjoint, so I'm not sure I get the point.

I don't think there's any intention to make a story of it, disjointed or not. The community is just compiling lists of single sentences, with a certain character/pairing as a theme. I tried that but didn't find it very interesting, which is why instead of writing single sentences I'm writing a paragraph or so featuring each word. Which is probably why it's taking longer. Fun, though.

Oh, I see. The word lists are interesting; I think I'll try something Clex-y. I haven't written or read much Smallville lately. :)
