More Fannish Five...

From The Fannish Five:

Name five characters you would like to punch in the face.

Answer: none, because I'm the non-violent type. I wouldn't want to punch anyone.

But there are certainly characters I find annoying. I'd like to, say, shove 'em off the screen. Examples:

1. Smallville - Lois Lane. You thought I'd say Lana Lang, right? Well, Lois has been exceeding her in annoyance factor for some time. Pushy and rude. She has improved lately, but she has a way to go before I like her. (I hold a grudge because she stopped Clark from naming his dog Krypto.)



2. Lost - Anna Lucia. I can't quite figure out if I think she's Rima the Jungle Girl or simply a petty dictator, but I wish the Others would take her and keep her.



3. Highlander - Richie. The world of Highlander fans is divided between those who love Richie and those who hate him. I found him only occasionally tolerable. His worst thing ever was becoming Immortal. His best moment ever was finally losing his head.



4. Veronica Mars - Jackie. What does Wallace see in her? Obviously he finds her sexy, but I can't think why!



5. Battlestar Galactica - Chief. Can't think why, really; he hasn't done or said anything I would specifically object to, but I find myself totally unsympathetic to a man who ought to be a sympathetic character. But... he put me off in the beginning with his affair with Boomer, and it was downhill from there.

The little bit I watchjed of Highlander, I couldn't abide Richie.

No, Richie was unabidable. But I rather liked his role in "Chivalry" (my favourite episode) and in the pilot. Otherwise - well, there was plenty that was good about the show, I could always put up with Richie. Or ignore him.

1. being pursued by a vengeful Sayid
2. being chased by a tyrannosaurus
3. tripping in the path of the Island Monster

... well, you know, a fight with Sayid wouldn't be my first choice.
