Packing for Malta...
Oct. 11th, 2005 08:24 pmToday was not the day I expected it to be. I expected to be organized.
First, I went to the Rideau Centre to change my Canadian money for Maltese liri, but they didn't have any. Next, I went to the Silver Snail and bought the Yamoto "Wave 2" Batman figurine.
I fell in love with that when I first saw it, many months ago. I looked at it every time I went to pick up my comics, and every week I told myself I couldn't afford another silly (beautiful) toy - you can see it here, the middle figure of the picture. Today I thought how disppointed I'd be if they sold the last one while I was in Malta, so I bought it. I am thrilled to see that it has a stand and backdrop, with the skyline of Gotham City and the bat-signal behind the figure. I have it on the wall beside my Gambit action figure.
Then I went to the Pho Bo Ga 2 for lunch with
Then I went to the money exchange place at the World Exchange Plaza, and they had no Maltese money, but sent me to their branch way out in Lincoln Heights. I almost didn't go, but I was feeling stubborn; so I did, and got to read a lot on the bus. There was another woman there getting Maltese money. How many Ottawa people go to Malta, anyway?
Now I'm packing. I'm bound to forget something. The trick is to forget something that isn't important. I have my plane ticket, Maltese money (and some Euros for Germany), hotel info, passport... underwear, toothbrush. Rent is paid,
I even packed my sailor costume jacket for the Trafalgar Day celebrations. I hesitated because it's heavy, but really, I couldn't resist.
