A delightful Sunday...
Sep. 18th, 2005 10:48 pmI'm listening to James Spader on TV. Fun. Usually I don't watch the Emmy awards - there's no point - since I've almost never heard of any of the actors and haven't seen the shows. That's a little different this year, since I've seen Lost, House and some episodes of Boston Legal - and it was fun to see Kristen Bell do her dance number with such girlish enthusiasm.
Went this morning for dim sum with
Over suppertime,
Then watched the Emmy Awards. I can't believe that Lost won for best dramatic show - the shows I like never win anything. Must have been a fluke! And what a treat to see them all up on the stage, from J.J. Abrams on down - Josh Hollowday with a big smile, Naveen Andrews looking particularly gorgeous.
I can't help thinking that this makes Lost somewhat respectable. I'm not sure if I like that! Validated by the establishment? There must be something wrong with that.

Date: 2005-09-19 10:57 am (UTC)Eee! Tentacles! Oh help, this means that we have to go to my favourite fish restaurant in Marsaxlokk while you're here and have the calamaretti. Add that to the welcome barbecue, the gala dinner, the obligatory trip to the Fontanella for chocolate cake, the Trafalgar meal, the fenkata and the meal at Chez Philippe with his heavenly creme brulee for dessert and it's looking like I'm goint to be eating out more in those two weeks than I've done all year. To which my response is, "yay!". *g*
Does bubble tea come in cans? ::hints not so subtly:: *g*

Date: 2005-09-19 11:28 am (UTC)No, I don't think bubble tea comes in cans. I've never seen it in cans. I think you can only get it fresh.

Date: 2005-09-19 01:24 pm (UTC)I can see that I'm going to have to come to Canada if I want to try it. Well, there are worse reasons for crossing the Atlantic - though possibly not more frivolous ones. :)
I'll just have to console myself with creme brulee and squidlets. Not together.

Date: 2005-09-19 11:02 am (UTC)Liking to eat squid and other tentacle-y things does indeed go hand in tentacle (sorry!) with liking Age of Sail fic. Eating tentacles gives one such a sense of invincibility. "Take that, you Monster of the Deep" with every mouthful chewed and swallowed.
It helps that they taste nice too. *g*

Date: 2005-09-19 01:30 pm (UTC)Pleeeze! I can just see Archie and Horatio in a little tavern by the sea in Naples, eating fried calamaretti, which Horatio has never tried before. Archie persuades him to be adventurous...
