A warm day, a good day. I went to see "Art in the Park" with
maaboroshi, and we certainly did see a lot of art - some good, some awful. There was one artist whose work inspired me to work on something visual of my own; she did interesting canvasses with decoupage, textured paper, and bits of paint. I've been wanting to do something medieval.
My favourite artist there was a photographer called
Aaron Cryderman, and I almost bought his photo of a tree,
called "Desolation", while
maaboroshi liked a photo called
Waipio Silhouettes. There were some interesting works in coloured glass, most of which I found rather harsh, and some interesting soft-sculpted dolls with colourful costumes.
Afterwards, we each bough an ionizing fan, because it's been hot and I haven't been sleeping well lately because of the heat, and though the apartment management says they'll turn on the air conditioning on Tuesday, we are skeptical... and currently, hot.
Lyn came over for a while and we talked about comic books.
Later, I went up to
maaboroshi's place and we sat on her balcony drinking wine, eating pizza, and talking about
A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. It was a lovely, relaxing time. I need more of that.
