I got this quiz from [livejournal.com profile] dargie who wonders who thinks these things up.

It's the second time a quiz has called me an existentialist, and I deny it! I don't even like existentialism!

You scored as Existentialist. Existentialism emphasizes human capability. There is no greater power interfering with life and thus it is up to us to make things happen. Sometimes considered a negative and depressing world view, your optimism towards human accomplishment is immense. Man is condemned to be free and must accept the responsibility.

Though I guess I sort of agree with the philosophy as described here... Does this fit with being a pantheist?

Hmm. I guess so.

I retreat, muttering om shanti.

I haven't done the quiz, but that sure sounds like me, too. And I also wouldn't consider myself an existentialist. Goes to prove we shouldn't be so hung up on defining/naming things!

That's a good point. Once you get labels, you get preconceptions, assumptions and stereotyping. And yet if we don't use any labels, how do we ever manage to communicate effectively about anything?

(Pondering without illumination.)

Ah well, we can always form a "fake existentialists" club.
