Birthday celebrations...
May. 3rd, 2005 10:38 pmMid-afternoon, I phoned Diane, one of my oldest and dearest friends, though we hardly ever see each other these days. I phoned to wish her a happy birthday. She invited me to join her birthday dinner tonight at Mother Tucker's in the Market, so I did. I rushed over to the closest store and even had a present wrapped for her, just in time.
It was fun, catching up on news - one son getting married next year, one son in China, all sorts of family news. A great time was had by all.
It's interesting to see someone I know so well, yet see so seldom. It was as if we were still in the same conversation we had when last we had dinner together - a year ago? More? Two years? Yikes!
