Tonight, at the recommendation of a Dunnett-fan friend, I watched Tokyo Godfathers.

What a quirky, interesting movie. A character-driven Christmas story about three homeless people who find an abandoned baby and try to keep it. Beautiful art; and I had fun second-guessing the plot with no success whatsoever. There were some nice tear-jerking moments, some delightful comedy, and a lovely sense of humanity among the wackiness.

Loved the end-credits, with a boppy version of Beethoven's Ode to Joy.

I finally saw Finding Neverland last night... have you seen it? It's very good, and I normally don't even like dramas. Of course you can't go wrong with Johnny Depp (or Kate Winslet, or Julie Christie, or Dustin Hoffman for that matter...)

Well, I do like dramas, but I liked Finding Neverland quite aside from that - partly because of the sensitive portrayal of J.M. Barrie, whom I've always liked; mostly because of the great performances by Johnny Depp and the kid who played Peter. I'm not too fond of Kate Winslet actually, but she was fine, and I really liked Radha Mitchell as Mary Barrie. I thought the pacing and style of the movie was perfect, and so very much in the character of the times.

Yeah, lovely movie.
