Sheila's birthday...
Apr. 23rd, 2005 02:27 pmNo, Sheila isn't on LJ so I won't wish her a public "happy birthday" here. I did that last night, at La Bifteque restaurant on Iris. First, I wandered around Chapters for a while, making notes about all the books I really want to read, incontrast to all the other books that I might just like to read. The birthday dinner was fun in just about every way - lots of talk and laughter.
At the end of the meal, they were setting up the room we were in for an art display by an artist named Jane Agulnik, whom we met. Her pictures were good, but what really struck me was her telephones - yes, she was featuring colourfully painted dial-type telephones. They were funny. Made me consider painting my own telephone in, I don't know, perhaps a Batman motif of greys and blacks. Or prehaps in ancient Greek style. Hmm.
I like this time of year for birthdays. Shakespeare, for example. It's a good time of year for writers.
