Fantastic Four...

This morning I saw (on Yahoo!) a trailer for the Fantastic Four movie. Despite initial trepidation, I'd become quite excited - the impression I hd before was fairly classy. That stylish '4' symbol. The casting. Maybe they were doing it right.

But the trailer was a little ... disappointing. Possibly because I saw it in squintyvision. It looked very like the trailers for the X-Men movies. It looked like all-action-and-effects, not much characterization - though it was nice to see Ioan Gruffudd in the middle of it all. Have I mentioned lately how much I've always loved Reed Richards? Now, there was a major crush when I was ten years old.

So what do I expect - Shakespeare?

Not exactly. But I'm hoping for something that isn't just shouting and explosions.
