Jan. 25th, 2005 11:07 pmI got this from
dargie...
HS Senior year meme
I have a mental block about the meaning of the term 'senior' (which I never remember) but in context here it means graduating year, right? Which for me would be Grade 13.
[What year was it?]
1970-71
[What were your three favorite bands?]
Beatles, Herman's Hermits, Peter and Gordon
[What was your favorite outfit?]
A long sleeveless vest and a matching pleated miniskirt. They were terrific; made of a sort of classy blue suit fabric, very tailored.
[What was up with your hair?]
Long, straight, parted in the middle.
[Who were your best friends?]
Diane and M.J.
[What did you do after school?]
Read books, read comics, talked on the phone with Diane.
[Where did you work?]
I was a waitress at the Bruce MacDonald Motor Hotel on Carling Ave.
[Did you take the bus?]
When I had no other choice. I walked to school, and took my bicycle anywhere that was inconvenient to walk to.
[Who did you have a crush on?]
Francis Crawford of Lymond. The Duke of Avon. Percy Bysshe Shelley.
[Did you fight with your parents?]
No.
[Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?]
Is Francis Crawford of Lymond a celebrity? He was to me! I suppose if you asked me at the time, I would have named one of the Beatles, or Peter Tork. I really had a crush on Cheryl Tiegs.
[Did you smoke cigarettes?]
No.
[Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?]
Huh? Why would I be nervous about my locker?
[Did you have a 'clique'?]
No. I was the shy, solitary type.
[Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater?]
Who?
[Admit it, were you popular?]
No. I liked to think I was above all that. Actually, I was quiet and lonely, but I had a few good friends (cf. Diane and M.J., above) and they mattered to me.
[Who did you want to be just like?]
Percy Bysshe Shelley. Or maybe Mary Shelley. Alternatively, Cheryl Tiegs.
[What did you want to be when you grew up?]
A writer.
[Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?]
Nova Scotia. I wanted to live by the sea.
