Lunchtime walk...
Jan. 17th, 2005 02:11 pmFeeling much better today. At lunchtime, Lisa phoned and suggested that we go for a walk. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and I always enjoy a chance to see Lisa. Well, it was a tad on the cold side, especially since I'd left my thermal underwear in the washing machine. The wind was cold. We proved what hardy Canadians we were. Yup, anything for the sake of exercise.
I dropped into the library to see about a book I'd ordered, Caesar and Rome by Charlotte Bernard. I'd read it before, but I was looking for a quotation I hadn't seen elsewhere, so I'd requested it from the Hazeldean branch two weeks ago. According to the computer it's on their shelves, but now, two weeks later, it still hadn't come to me and wasn't even marked as 'in transit'. So the gentleman at my branch phoned the people at that branch and now it's on its way. Or so they promised. What, they just need to be prodded from time to time?
