Laws in space colonization...

A sunny, warm day today. Not too warm; good for walking, and I walked home from the OSFS meeting, enjoying it mightily.

The topic of the meeting was international law in space. Tom Harris, who led the discussion (and did it well) presented us with elements of space law from a U.N. treaty of 1967, and we discussed its various parts and implications. There was a lot to say and I think between we cited half the SF novels ever written, and a few movies besides.

In the evening, I watched "Lost" again with maaseru and maaboroshi. I caught a few things I'd missed before, including the whole scene where Jack is talking about being afraid when he messed up the operation on the girl's spine - that was when Lyn phoned me on Wednesday. I found that this time through I was suspicious of everyone, and thought no one was telling the truth about anything. Well, maybe the ditzy blonde with the toenails. (But maybe that's only an act!)

I'm highly suspicious as well. Is Jack really a doctor? Isn't it *convenient* that he just happens to be a doctor *and* have had a few flying lessons? And I wondered about what's-her-name's seatmate - I think she knows him better than she's letting on. It's all very intriguing. . .

(Damn, I think I'm going to need a Lost icon!)

I agree with your suspicions.... What does Jack's tattoo mean? Is it possible he's military? If military, perhaps some sort of espionage?

Yeah, a Lost icon would be good!
