Long Wednesday..

Busy busy busy. Trying to use the new ticketing program at work that I hardly know my way around. Non-stop phone calls but I was also trying to changeover all my files from past fiscal year to current fiscal year... and make a web page. After work, I did manage to go to the Silver Snail and buy this week's comics: Gambit #1 is out at last.

At lunchtime I read Fantastic Four #517. Fantastic Four is the comic that made me a lifelong comic book fan, and was the mainstay of my collection for decades.... But since the 1980s or so I haven't bought it, have been paying more attention to mutant titles... Until Ultimate Fantastic Four caught my eye because Brian Michael Bendis was writing it, and then Warren Ellis. And 4 turns out ot be a good comic. But I was avoiding the old regular mainstay Fantastic Four because Mark Waid was writing it and Mark Waid tends to bore me....

Only I read it today and it was terrific.

I'm not sure if this is good news, or bad.

After buying my comics, I went to the grocery store and ran into Doreen, an old friend I haven't seen for ages. We agreed to meet for a cup of tea to discuss mystery novels - a plan we often make and fail to carry through on, but this time we will, right? Right.

Now it's suppertime. At last.
