...And trying to get used to [livejournal.com profile] gem225's keyboard and mouse. Her lovely cat Cisco is sitting beside me on the windowsill; her place is fannish heaven.

Despite the feat, I'm loving Boston and environs. The "Lord of the Rings" exhibit at the Museum of Science was wonderful; we saw it this morning, at 9 a.m. The person who greets one at the door had trouble getting cheers and participation out of us; at nine a.m. on a hot Saturday - she has to be kidding,

The best things in the exhibit: Boromir in his funeral boat; the Elvish garments of Legolas and the Ranger garments of Aragorn; Aiglos; the weapons of Haldir; the Elvish crowns and rings; getting one's picture taken in forced Elvish perspective.... And much else. This is not the time to go into it, on [livejournal.com profile] gem225's computer. We are about to go for supper.

I'm feeling (mostly) well.

We visited Harvard Square: comic book shops, bookshops, DVD shops.... There is so much available on the shelves here than at home. Truly a land of abundance.

I knew you'd love Boromir in the boat! And Aragorn's costume is one of the things we kept returning to, just to gaze at in awe. Legolas's costume, OTOH, I found a bit disappointing. I concluded that it's the Elf inside it that makes it look special on screen...

Have a wonderful rest of your stay, and a safe journey back.

Yes, Boromir was... is... amazing. Sarah was impressed that there was still mud on the soles of his boots. I was just impressed with the whole thing, and the way we could see the details of the embroidery on his sleeve, and the way he looked so lifelike or deathlike.... Gorgeous.

The best thing about Legolas' outfit in his boots.

I could go on at length and no doubt will but not tonight. We've beein driving back from Boston since 11 a.m. and I want to collapse now.

We couldn't take pictures inside the exhibition. Except for the ones they took of us, of [livejournal.com profile] maaseru as a hobbit and me as a large human, and vice versa. Yes, the weapons of Haldir were are splendid as you'd want them to be. Shiny! Stylish and smart.
