It was a restful day, and a delightfully fannish one, even though I didn't go out.

I worked on my scrapbook - why do I find that such a satisfying thing to do? Seems to me I shouldn't, but I do. I made a page for Aragorn, two Troy, two for Cable and Shatterstar of X-Force, one for Gambit of X-Men, and some for a few other Marvel heroes - Daredevil, Black Widow, Elektra. One for the production of Don Giovanni I saw a few weeks ago.

And I worked on my story in progress. A Sparrington story with the working title Risk. It's going fine, but I am disturbed at how slowly I am writing it. It's in my head, it's not difficult to find the words, but I am so slow, as if each sentence is coming in slow motion. Makes me fear the words will dry up entirely, or the ideas - but they haven't, and I can think of no reason to fear they will.

Elections tomorrow. It's easy to know who to vote for - Ed Broadbent is the NDP candidate in my riding. I even have some hope he may get in: there are Ed Broadbent signs on just about every lawn in the neighbourhood. It gives a person heart, or at least makes her proud of her street.

Good. *g*

A Sparrington story with the working title Risk.

You asked if I know of a fic with the same title - the answer's no, at least not as far as I remember. But then I read mainly [livejournal.com profile] firesignwriter's stuff and a few other writers - hardly a representative sample of the reams of PotC fic out there. I'd say, if it fits the story, then keep it. And don't lose sleep over it. ;-)

That's generally my rule of thumb - only rarely do I find titles I think are good. I called my first PotC fic "Freedom" and of course I was not the first to use the title, nor the last - but I still like it! It sums up (to my mind) so much much of the nature of Jack Sparrow.

Where can I find your first PotC fic? And have you written others? Now why was I under the impression that the current fic was your first in this fandom?

On second thoughts, maybe I'll read your new one first so that I don't have any preconceptions about characterisations etc. from your previous fics.

My Pirates of the Caribbean stories were written were written long ago, and I'm ashamed to say I have several PotC fics sitting unfinished on my hard drive. (One was a challenge with an Oct. 31 deadline. Eeek!) You can find the few finsihed ones I did on my "miscellaneous fic" page at http://members.rogers.com/fajrdrako/stories.html.

But by all means, wait and read the current one first. It'll be done soon... I hope!
