2. What is the worst movie series?

4. What movie series should have stopped before now or long before it did (e.g., Star Trek, Star Wars, Friday the 13th, Scream, Alien, Nightmare on Elm Street, Die Hard, American Pie)?
5. What is your favorite movie series?
1. What is the best movie series in terms of consistency and quality?
The Lord of the Rings
2. What is the worst movie series?
I've no idea. If it were so bad I wouldn't go to see it, would I? Or at least, having seen one, iI probably wouldn't go to the rest. I'm not a person who likes movies that are 'so bad they are good'. I can't think of any really bad series that I have seen. I have probably mercifully repressed the memory. I saw some that were better than others, but most of the series I didn't like are still generally acclaimed as good movies.
3. What, if any, movie sequels surpassed the original?
Highlander:Endgame was better than all the movies that preceded it. I thought Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Nemesis were more enjoyable than any of the previous Star Trek movies. I never saw the James Bond movies in any sort of order but I liked all the Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan movies better than the Roger Moore ones. I thought Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was better than the two preceding movies. So... I don't think it's all that rare for a sequel to be better than the first movie in a series, especially when they were designed as a series from the beginning.
4. What movie series should have stopped before now or long before it did (e.g., Star Trek, Star Wars, Friday the 13th, Scream, Alien, Nightmare on Elm Street, Die Hard, American Pie)?
I feel so out of it. I haven't seen most of those. There only were three Die Hard movies, weren't there? I liked them all. Same with Dirty Harry. I was never much of a Star Wars fan, though I liked Han Solo, and Obi-Wan and Qui-Gonn.
5. What is your favorite movie series?
If I can call The Lord of the Rings a series, it is. No question. Can I call Becket and The Lion in Winter a series of two? They are both favourites - and not technically a series, but they are about the same protagnist, played by the same actor, so I figure that's close enough. I love the Horatio Hornblower series with Ioan Gruffudd, if I can include made-for-TV movies here.
