I was talking to 2shelties about John Schneider. She saw an interview in which he said people generally think he looks older than he is - he just turned 44.
That got me thinking about relative ages. John Schneider is only three years older than Johnny Depp. That seems amazing to me.
John is just a year older than me, so I always think of him as being just his age. I think he might seem older to some people because he plays a Dad of a nearly-grown son. I can't imagine having a 17-year-old, even though it's possible. (My oldest son is 12.) As for Johnny Depp, he does look young for his age and he has played a lot of "young" roles in his time, which may account for that.
Certainly their personal styles are very different, and their personalities, which also changes how a person appears to others. Yes, a lot has to do with the roles they are known for - Schneider plays a father, Depp plays romantic leads. I have to think of this some more, since I find perceptions of age (and the implications) fascinating.
There's the fact that David Duchovny (hubba hubba) is only a year younger than I am, then John Schneider (who skews so much older for some reason) is the same age I am. Weirdness!

I am happy to know there are gorgeous men and women my age and even (is it possible?) older. And Annette O'Toole is pretty darn gorgeous. I wish I had hair like hers.
