From The Fannish Friday Five:

Duo 5
1. What duo (crime-fighting or other) is the best at team fighting?

Bodie and Doyle. From The Professionals. Really, they are amazing. The way they break through a door in tandem - it's a wonder to behold. They way they play the good cop/bad cop scene. The way they cover each other's backs. They way they work together with Macklin.... Oh, yeah, they are the best of two-man teams.

I am also tempted to say "Batman and Robin", but I'm not sure I can bring myself to do so, and not because it's so obvious. For one thing, all my favourite Batman stories are stories that do not feature Robin. And though I greatly like Nightwing, I don't necessarily like him with Batman, I just love the character. I prefer Batman solo, and Nightwing with others (like the Teen Titans).

2. What duo understands each other the best?

Bodie and Doyle.

3. What duo has the best banter?

Bodie and Doyle. Really, I mean it.

Spider-Man and Daredevil aren't bad, on the few occasions they have teamed up.

I like the combination of Cable and Deadpool, too.

4. What duo has the healthiest relationship?

Healthy relationships are boring relationships. I don't get into "healthy" relationships in fiction.

5. What duo has the most dysfunctional relationship?

They made the duo of Cyclops and Wolverine pretty dysfunctional in the last few issues of Ultimate X-Men that I recently read - now I think I see where the movie got the idea of those two being rivals and playing each other for dominance. Since in the comic I had always previously liked their friendship (and the way they handled their separate relationships with Jean Grey), I found that disconcerting at first. But hey, I'm adaptable.

Simply the best, better than all the rest *g*. Have to agree with that one. They may not always have liked each other, but they certainly understood each other.

Yes - I can't even think of another pair of fictional guys who worked together so well, even when they argued with each other. It was always such fun to see.
