Geek week...
Feb. 27th, 2004 10:38 pmRemember how I was calling myself a fangirl yesterday? I was amused to go to the Chapters website (that's a big Canadian bookstore, if any of you don't know) and see that they have a big banner up for GEEK WEEK - FANDOM IS NOT A CRIME. Heh - love it. And just to prove my bona-fide fannishness (which I know is not doubted by anyone in the 'verse), the first item on the list of items recommended for us fangirls and fanboys was the Firefly DVD.
It's gotta be my kind of bookstore.
Mind you, they didn't have the book I was looking for, which was Rune Song by Edred Thorsson. I'm sure I can find it online but I was hoping to find a Canadian source so I wouldn't have to pay a small fortune for it. No luck.

Anyway, Rune Song did not show up at all. Are you sure of the title? And, should I go ask my bookstore to order any of these for you? (Cover price minus my discount card -- I'd consider that, were I you [heh].) If not -- happy searching!

Date: 2004-02-29 04:52 am (UTC)Yes, I'm sure of the title of Rune Song and the reason I want it (rather than one of those others, which of course I would want as well!) is that he has a CD in the book of the runes being chanted. I would love to hear it!
There is another author, Freya Aswynn, who also has a CD of rune chanting but I am told it is not as good, and a glance at her web page didn't impress me. So I'm looking for the Thorsson book.
Obviously out of print, obviously hard to find, and I fear that if it does turn up second-hand, it might be difficult to find it with the CD intact.
Anyway, don't order any of the other ones, or at least, not yet. They too can be found (or ordered) here. It's the Thorsson CD that I really want.
It isn't really so big a jump from the Well of Wyrd to the Wall of Weird!
