I'm in the audience of Billy Elliott: the Musical, and loving it. Marcus Pei is playing Billy: he's good. It's a little more political and a little more punchy than the movie.

[livejournal.com profile] gamergrrl and I were disappointed to see that York's Kitchen, where we planned to have breakfast, was closed. In the Royal York, the breakfast buffet was $29; worsen a bowl of oatmeal was $12.00. We went across the street, where they had a fine buffet (including oatmeal) for $14.

Then I did some bookstore browsing with Tasia, because there was nothing at the convention that interested us till noon. I love Toronto Boostores. On the way, I took photos of the chalked tributes to Jack Layton. People were liked up to see his coffin; a flas od deja vu. The line was long, but I couldn't tell whether it was longer or shorter than the line in Ottawa.

I'm back at the con now. Finally got to talk to Mark; met a few of his friends. Now sitting in the room where a Marvel "Fear Itself" panel is about to start. Should I be in the room next door, to hear Jeff Smith? How does one decide? Why do the people I most want to hear have presentations at the same time?

Turns out Darwyn Cooke is unexpectedy here. Cool.
