Another successful morning, and this time I remembered to take my phone with me.
It was sunny and beautiful all day, though chilly in the early morning. Lovely for walking to work. Only one snag - when I cut through the park to get to Bank Street, they'd closed the gate, and I had to climb under. With my backpack on. I felt clumsy.
It was a busy day, for many reasons, especially that the movers came to clear the boxes out of the basement - I ended up working three hours overtime. Overtime! And I'll be paid for it. I'm boggling.
Bought some comics, though it was a light week -
X-Factor Forever, which was put in my box by mistake, but hey, it's Louise Simonson;
Black Widow #1;
Second Coming: New Mutants and a freebie,
The Amazing Spider-Man: Grim Hunt, the Kraven Saga. Seems to contain the back-history of Kraven. That's cool.
I hope
Black Widow is good. I've always liked her as a character; loved her run in
Daredevil when they were lovers; have great memories of that
Black Widow portfolio drawn by Paul Gulacy. I always see her as a sort of female counterpoint of Nick Fury, and Marvel's answer to Catwoman.
And yet the recent
Black Widow miniseries wasn't all that good. I didn't like the villainization of Ivan, and the plot didn't have a lot to recommend it.
Had supper with
maaseru at a restaurant called Jo Moon Ting - a name I've been having a lot of trouble remembering. It's on Somerset near Booth St. A friend of
maaseru recommended it when she heard how much I loved congee, and they serve it as a scecialty. For a good part of the time there, I was the only non-Chinese person in the restaurant. And yes, the congee was utterly delicious. The waitress seemed a little surprised that I loved it. Am I so unusual?
