Following a hint in Wikipedia that Neil Gaiman was a fan of Diana Wynne Jones (and so he might be), and vice versa, I read this in his blog:
I dedicated Books of Magic to Diana (and three other witches), she dedicated Hexwood to me...
Does anyone know who the other three witches are?

It doesn't suprise me that Gaiman and Jones have a mutual admiration society: their stories tend to be good in the same sorts of ways.

Most of my plans for today went strange. Not really in a bad way.... [livejournal.com profile] maseru and Yolande joined me for breakfast, and then we went to Costco, the Silver Snail (guess whose idea that was?) and the library (ditto).

Now, I'd planned a nice sociable (but reasonably quiet) evening with [livejournal.com profile] lunacy_gal, [livejournal.com profile] explodedteabag, and Yolande, but dur to various happenstances it was the only and best day for Lil to visit to do some work we needed to do, and then everyone arrived at once, including the cleaners, and things were sort of chaos-like, and there were technical problems with our computers. But we all survived. And got pizza from the Colonnade, which was delicious as always. (Best pizza in Ottawa.)

Then we watched A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim, which I had never seen. What fun.
