Foot Rehab, session 2...
May. 30th, 2008 11:21 amDamn. Wish I could call it 'murder rehab' or something sexy and outrageous, like Captain John Hart.
Had my second session today, at the Riverside Hospital. First Debbie had me waggling my foot on something that looked like an inflatable jellyfish. Then on a wooden board that goes back and forth, like a teeter-totter for the foot. (Couldn't I improvise one of those here at home?) Then on a machine that looked like an instrument of torture, but was really rather fun: it looked like a candelabra with weights on various sides for me to lift them back and forth with the sides of my feet.
Then she did a lot of stretching and pulling of the foot, to increase flexibility. You'd think that would hurt, but it didn't. It was like a foot massage. That got us talking to an elderly gentleman there who said his wife rubbed his head while he watch sports on TV. I said I wanted his wife. He said no way. I love a head-rub more than just about anything. Some people have all the luck. But if the price is watching sports... it's a trade-off.
Now my ankle is burning a little and I'm going to get the ice-pack. But I feel progress has been made! More flexibility. Always good. Maybe I should do some yoga now, too. Feeling up for it.
