fajrdrako: ([Doctor Who] - Ten)

I just watched this. It's murky, it's dark and fuzzy. It shows the point of view of a character I thought I didn't like much. But...

Watching this made me hold my breath in wonder.

I love this show so much. Despite "The Last of the Time Lords" and any other 'despite' I can think of. All is forgiven. I love this show!

So - when will series 4 be airing?

Soon?

I was reading today's Epoch Times in Kettleman's Bagels today. On the first page, there was an article accompanied by a picture of a man with leprosy, living on a street in Dakar, Senegal.

Right underneath that was an illustrated ad for luxury condos in Ottawa - "Distinctively Fine Furnishings".

Faugh. Puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

I watched Groundhog Day today with [livejournal.com profile] maaseru. I've wanted to see it since it came out, but never got the chance.

Yeah... wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff. I loved it, of course. It helps that I like both Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell, and existentialist themes - though I didn't see it as an existentialist theme till the writer said so, and I'm still not sure if it's how I would describe it. In any case, I also love romantic themes, and stories about people finding their own truths.

The only note that jarred for me was the last line of the movie, when they say they're going to stay and live in Punxsutawney. There's a theme I've often seen in American movies that living in a small town is better - spiritually? morally? - than living in a city. I don't get that.
