I just read that they're making a Babylon 5 movie.

I have mixed feelings about this. There were episodes and characters I loved, and expisodes and characters I didn't. I hated so much about fifth season (and what they did with my favourite character) that I was left with negative feelings about the show; and I'm not a big fan of Boxleitner, and quite dislike Tracy Scroggins. I did, on the other hand, like Crusade, and if Peter Woodward is going to be in the movie.... Well. I'm there. He's one of my short-list of irresistible guys.

I probably shouldn't have been reading this because it could be a potential spoiler for Torchwood episode 5, "Small Worlds", but I couldn't resist, and I found it delightful.

...Which wasn't a bad day, considering that I woke up with a headache at 4 a.m. and it lasted for about 12 hours. Ugh. Now, what brought that on?

Went to brunch (dim sum) at the Mandarin Ogilvie - seven of us. A good time was had by all. I started out planning to only order one or two dishes, to keep my diet pristine, but gave up with all the delicious and tempting things going by - I was just careful to eat nothing with sugar or wheat in it. Squid, bok choy, asparagus, other greens... and tripe! O happy day. Tripe is one of my favourite foods and there are few restaurants who serve it. Usually I have to cook my own - if I can find it.

[livejournal.com profile] walkingowl and I went back to my place, intending to watch a few episodes of Doctor Who and then go to a movie, but because of my headache - which was at its worst mid-afternoon - we didn't. Ah well, a low-key afternoon and evening was just the thing. I managed to make up a tray of diet-friendly snacks, and we vegged in front of the television, when we weren't just talking. A nice day.

I'm getting such a kick out of the odds and ends they're putting up on the website about Torchwood. Reminds me of the websites for Lost and Heroes, where again it's a sort of miscellaneous addendum to the show. Only with Torchwood, they're writing canonical slash for us.

My favourite line in this one: The blogwriter, Peter, is making a play for Captain Jack, and says:
"So, you're either a cop or a hooker."

He grins at that. "Not for a long time. Now, get out of here."
