"Most of the Tintin books are great escapades, but that doesn't necessarily make for a good piece of theatre. You need something to happen to the central character. I don't mean being kidnapped and being thrown off a cliff. The heart of a story is when a person comes up against some part of themselves that they have to deal with." -- director Rufus Norris, The Young Vic, London

Watched Smallville tonight: Fragile. My feelings for the show aren't what they used to be; but I find I still enjoy it on a different level. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for Clark Kent with a cute kid - and I was glad that this time, the cute kid didn't die. I do wish Martha Kent would get her personality back, and stop smiling the way she does all the time. I liked the villain.

As often happens, Clark seemed to be more of an observer of the action than an actual participant.

I thought the ending, with Lana kissing Lex, was really hot. I'd rather see him kiss Clark, but at this point I'll take what I can get.
