Smallville, "Crisis". I loved it so I've watched it several times now.


2. What was the last fannish conversation you had and who was it with?

Discussing LOTR and Smallville and Firefly on the phone today with maboroshimaki. Discussing Stargate with Marcelle. Discussing movies with a group of other friends this evening.


3. What was the last fannish list discussion you participated in?

A discussion about Lymond on one of the Dunnett lists.


4. What was the last fannish lj entry you read/commented on?

A discussion of fannish discretion (and indiscretion) this morning with meri_oddities.


5. What was the last fanfic you read?

Future Legend by adamlizz, which I read last night.

Hidalgo...

I almost didn't go to see Hidalgo, because... Well, for various reasons, none of them very good. Ambivalence. Perhaps a little fear of seeing Viggo Mortensen in a lesser role than as Aragorn, and what, after Aragorn, could be anything but a lesser role?

We made a fannish evening of it and went as a crowd and guess what? It was okay after all. I loved it.

I've never felt lust for a cowboy before.¹

I was surprised and delighted to see J.K. Simmons in it. I love his acting. And I usually fail to recognize him from one role to the next.

¹Malcolm Reynolds doesn't count. He's a captain, not a cowboy. Or maybe he's both.

1. What was the last song you heard?

Sting's Desert Rose.


2. What were the last two movies you saw?

Lost in Translation and Hidalgo.


3. What were the last three things you purchased?

Besides food? Um... a notebook. Comic books. Scissors.


4. What four things do you need to do this weekend?

1. Finish a story and post it.


2. Write an apazine.


3. Work on a website for the Iyengar Yoga people, as I promised to do.


4. Go to a rally to save our local branch of the public library.

5. Who are the last five people you talked to?

Lyn, Pat, Sandi, Beulah and Harry, who happen to be the people I had dinner with and saw Hidalgo with this evening. Unless you count five little budgies, whom I talked to when I got home, and they chirped in return.

This is one of those times I ask myself "why?" and then I think: I know why. ( and there's no mystery to it...sexiest man in the world and all.... )
