Morning....
Oct. 21st, 2003 08:02 amI starting my walking project in March, when winter was just ending and the Ottawa streets were going from slippery to passable. I watched spring deepen day by day; new and different flowers, brighter sun. Now I'm seeing the opposite procedure. There's nothing like walking to see the full flavour of each season. I'd miss it now if I couldn't do this. Even when it rains.
They say it's going to snow today. So... guess I'll have to wear my winter coat, and seriously think about buying those Sorel winter walking boots I like. And in a couple of months I probably won't be able to walk; it'll be a case of snowstorms and ice, and I'll have to take a bus to work, or at least, to the fitness club. It means that much more organization to my morning. I can do it. I can.
I've gone 309 miles on the way from Rivendell to Gondor now, with 1,205 miles to go. No, I'm not there yet. But I'm a little closer every day.
I slept late today: no fitness club for me this morning. For the first time in months, maybe years, I was awakened by the alarm. I guess there is a point to setting it, after all! I think this happened because I've been taking an antihistamine, and I guess it shows that the antihistamines are working. At least I'm not suffering from early-morning insomnia, as I was for a while.
Okay: back on the road to Gondor now! And only 56 days till "The Return of the King" opens. ("What does your heart tell you?" Aragorn asks.....)
