1. What is your favorite series finale? Why?
I've been thinking hard about this and I can't think of a series finale that I have liked - at least, not if we're talking about television. If I can interpret "series" as "comic book series", my answer would be: Sandman. I liked the final episode of The Professionals very much, but it wasn't in any sense a finale - it didn't finish off the story.
2. What is your favorite exit for a character? Why?
The death of Boromir in The Lord of the Rings. Because I love the dialogue (in the movie); and the situation in the book. It also makes a terrific turning point for Aragorn.
3. What is your favorite beginning of a relationship? Why?
Easy: the "meet violent" in the Smallville pilot between Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, when Lex lost control of the car and hit Clark and they both went into the river.
Second choice: the meeting of Methos and Duncan MacLeod in the third season Highlander episode "Methos".
Third choice: the meeting of Dana Scully and Fox Mulder in the first episode of X-Files: "Nobody here but the FBI's most unwanted."
4. What is your favorite introduction of a character? Why?
Er... see the above instances: Lex, Methos, and Mulder. Because I love all three characters.
Add to this the introduction of Strider in The Lord of the Rings when, as a sinister figure, he meets Frodo and the other Hobbits at the Prancing Pony in Bree.
Add to this the introduction of Kaylee in Firefly, though the scene I'm thinking of really doesn't count: it was the first time Mal met her (on her back on the Serenity engine parts with the engineer) but the viewers already knew her well.
5. What is your favorite pilot episode? Why?
X-Files, Smallville. Because they were beautifully written and filmed with an artistic eye.
