fajrdrakoJust because I feel the need and desire, I thought I'd list my 'five favourite scenes from Smallville. Can I do it? Can I restrict myself to only five?
Let's try.
1. The moment when baby Clark touches child Lex's face in the truck. (Lineage)
2. The moment the Porsche hits Clark on the bridge. (the Pilot)
3. The scene where Nixon brings Lex the photos of Lionel in bed with Victoria. (Leech)
4. The scene where Lucas writes 'bite me' on the contract to prove Lionel isn't blind. (Prodigal)
5. The scene where Clark jumps from the Daily Planet to the LuthorCorp building. (Insurgence).
Now, that was fun. And I can no doubt come up with many more favourite scenes, like Lex showing Warrior Angel to Ryan in "Ryan" or his comment about "destiny" in the Pilot or his reaction to Cassandra's death.
Or - my goodness - that wonderful glance Clark and Lex share in "Redux" when Clark is going in to school and Lex says "Be seeing you" and they exchange the hottest, sexiest look ever seen on television.
Okay, I guess it's obvious now that I'm kinky for lists. Let me make another one: a dozen things I like about Lex Luthor. (Something as general as "sexiness" doesn't count.)
1. His voice. One of the most beautiful voices in television.
2. His father, and interaction with his father.
3. His patience. Lex knows how to take the long view. He can wait for results with apparent calmness.
4. He has a whole room dedicated to his Clark Kent shrine, and doesn't mind telling his fiancee about his obsession.
5. That black shirt he wore in "Accelerate".
6. That long black jacket he wore in "Hourglass", when visiting Cassandra in his expensive shoes.
7. The black leather and make-up he wore at the night club in "Zero".
8. The fact that he will do anything for his friends.
9. His brains.
10. His historical references.
11. His love of comic books.
12. The graceful way he moves.
