Another Avengers comment...

But it's a spoiler, if you haven't seen The Avengers.

I have come to the conclusion that Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. is alive. Reasons:

1. Fans love him. Well, that's no reason, as we know well from the examples of Wash in Firefly and Ianto in Torchwood. But still. Fan-favourite characters are potential for money-making.
   
   
2. Nick Fury lies. We know he lies. We know he lied about the trading cards. I think the Coulson survived, but Fury didn't tell the Avengers because he wanted to give them a personal reason to fight on.
   
   
3. We didn't see the body, or the coffin.
   
   
4. On Wikipedia, it says "Gregg was reportedly in talks to reprise the role in Iron Man 3." In flashbacks? I don't think so!
   

At least, I hope he'll be back...

Oh, I hope he's alive. I really, really do.

At first, I thought he was dead. Then I wasn't sure. Now I'm more and more sure that he's actually alive.

The might, of course, prove me wrong in future, but at the moment, I'd be willing to bet money on it.
