Mar. 7th, 2012 10:11 pm- Watched the movie Push with
fairestcat. Enjoyed it very much: a different take on superheroes. It ought to be a serialized TV show... and set in Hong Kong, which was interesting. Colin Ford was in it as the young Nick Gant - familiar as the young Sam Winchester in Supernatural. Dakota Fanning played thriteen-year-old Cassie, and I'd swear she was Layla Miller, who knows stuff, from X-Factor. Camilla Belle played Nick's love interest Kira, but it was a rather thankless role - when Kira isn't drugged, mind-wiped, amensiac or asleep, she's sick and dying.
Still: nice action-packed piece about people out to get superheroes, and using powers in interesting ways. - Read some terrific comics, including Defenders #4 - who'd have thought that comic would be so much fun? I should have known: Matt Fraction is writing it. Also enjoyed Winter Soldier #3 and the final issue of Avengers: The Children's Crusade, which has numerous significant events and some very interesting characterization, and last but not least, a warm and lovely kiss between Teddy and Billy. Makes me a happy fan.
- Had a great dinner at Hintonburger with
fairestcat and
commodorified. We talked about lots of things, including the morality and legalities of the death of Bothari, the security of Kline Station, and the history of Shinto as a religion. - It was beautifully warm today. Not in my apartment, though: apparently it was warm enough on the roof that the sensors turned off the interior heat and my apartment was chilly.
