In a fancy hotel....

Toronto! Great place. We wandered the underground "path" through lots of good stores, bookstores, and the Eaton Centre. We were in search of The Ottawa Citizen - we saw it on the bus (after leaving Ottawa) and then it was sold out everywhere we went. There was a special ten-page special with information about The Lord of the Rings and Tolkien - a rather more thoughtful section than you usually see, though it had its inaccuracies. Yes, we found a copy eventually and read it - but we only found one copy and to of us wanted it. Ah well.

There was a fast-food place at the Eaton Centre that sold bubble tea. Only they didn't. Despite the promise on their sign, they didn't have any.

Hmmph.

We watched "Aida" in the hotel room, unably to guess at first what the opera was and what language it was in. It sure didn't sound like Italian. But what do I know about opera? Not much.

I had mango bubble tea today. The gentleman at the counter said, "With bubbles, or without?" "With bubbles, of course," I said, because what is the point of bubble tea with no bubbles? The woman who was making my drink said that women tend to want the bubbles (and quite rightly) but men don't.

How very odd.
