Suddenly Thanksgiving feels like summer...

8 p.m. on October 9, and it's 28C outisde. That's more than 80 degress Fahrenheit. This amazes me.

I'm afraid they'll take away our winter and put a summer in its place.

I have no idea what it's going to be like. The worst winter I can remember was one when the temperature was mild enough to dip up and down around the freezing point - so we had freeze, melt, freeze, melt, freeze some more - and spent half the winter walking precariously on sheer ice. I shudder at the memory.

Or, worse, puddles with nothing but ice on the bottom.

Worst - for the general environment, not for me - is when there's a brief frost and then it warms up enough that most plants think it's spring again. And then it goes back to winter and they die. some countries had that last year. big problem.

Yes, terrible for them. And for those dependent on them to sell or to eat.
