Dr Wintrob came back with her posse today - this time, only four doctors.

She said, all things being equal, if the pain doesn't get worse and if I have no nausea and vomiting, I can go home later today.

Will be nice.

Did they take it out laparoscopically? When I had mine out that way, lo, these many years ago, they were going to let me out same day (it was a Friday), but told me I had to spend the weekend with someone to care for me. And it was no heavy lifting for ... a couple of weeks? I spent the weekend with my cousin (who was my mother's age) and her husband.

And got told I was very much a bachelor, after I put the sweetener in the coffee cup, added a small amount of coffee, swirled to mix, then added the rest of the coffee, all to avoid dirtying a spoon.

Good news! As useful as hospitals are when you need them, it always feels wonderful to get out and go home - hopefully they'll process you out expeditiously, now that they've done their thing.
