It was auriaephiala who pointed me to the Constellation Awards for this year. It's the kind of Award I don't much like; I don't participate in anything when you have to pay to vote, and I find it's vague nationalism annoying. On the other hand... heck, it's fun to have an awards ceremony at the big Canadian conventions, so that's a good thing.

Interesting lists.

I didn't like or watch many of the shows nominated, and I think there are some glaring omissions: how can you pick great male actors in TV science fiction in 2010 and leave out John Noble as Walter Bishop - as two very different incarnations of Walter Bishop?

Not that I don't love David Tennant, and his acting style, but if we're going to look at "The End of Time, Part 2" my vote goes to Timothy Dalton for being the Time Lord to end all Time Lords.

My choices:

1) Best Male Performance in a 2010 Science Fiction Television Episode

John Noble as Walter Bishop in Fringe, "Brown Betty"

2) Best Female Performance in a 2010 Science Fiction Television Episode

Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham in Fringe, "Over There, part 2"
I could have picked any episode, and was tempted by "Brown Betty" again; but I chose this because in it she plays both Olivias.

3) Best Science Fiction Television Series of 2010

Fringe

4) Best Male Performance in a 2010 Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series.

Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark in Iron Man 2

5) Best Female Performance in a 2010 Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series.

Scarlet Johannsen as the Black Widow in Iron Man 2

7) Best Technical Accomplishment in a 2010 Science Fiction Film or Television Production.

The sets, CGI and special effects in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
