I love a good trade. It's far better than buying things. More satisfactory.
Two good trades this week:
The first was with Pim. More than a year ago

So now I'm into Tarot and she's more into oracle cards and the I Ching, and she let me borrow her cards. I fell in love with them. I was hesitant to ask her if I could buy them from her - I'd feel such a heel, asking for something I gave her back. But everyone said "oh, go ahead, ask", so I did, and Pim had the perfect answer: she'd trade them for one of my decks.
So I gave her free choice, and she chose an oracle deck - a beautiful deck, yes, but not one I'd ever be likely to do a reading with. Very interesting cards. So she's happy, and so am I.
These are currently the cards I use for readings, or to practise readings.
The other trade was my desk chair. A few years ago,

Then recently I had a back pain problem, and that worried me. Did I need a better chair? Sheila offered me Harry's, but we haven't been able to get it transported from her place to mine. And then

Well. "Want to trade?" I said. She did. It was a matter of minutes to take my chair up to her place and hers down to mine - minutes, that is, after I replaced the broken castor. That chair has been somewhat tottery lately.
My new chair looks like this:

Her chair fits in better at her place. Mine fits in better here. It's all so very satisfying.
