I was just reading up on X-Men First Class - the X-Men movie coming up.
Seems someone leaked a photo of the characters in costume:

Columnist Albert Ching identifies the characters:
- Left-to-right: Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne), Emma Frost (January Jones), Azazel (Jason Flemyng), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Havok (Lucas Till), not sure (perhaps Angel Salvadore, played by Zoë Kravitz?), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Professor Xavier (James McAvoy).
Nice set of characters, including three of my favourites: Magneto, Mystique, and Emma Frost. I'm not familiar with Azazel or Angel Salvador; seems Azazel is

I'm not familiar with Azazel or Angel Salvador; seems Azazel is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azazel_(Marvel_Comics) Nightcrawler's father, which surely means he'll have a thing with Mystique? Hmm. Cool. I can see I have some catching up of reading to do.
Then we have three photos of characters out of costume, including one of Magneto and Xavier playing chess:

...which at least has the virtue of being a classic X-Men scenario, symbolically and literally. I hope the scenes between them are slashy.
Confession: I haven't read the comic series X-Men First Class. Perhaps I should. Jeff Parker is an unknown quantity to me, as a writer.
So do I have high hopes for this movie? The signs are good in some ways: the inclusion of Magneto, Emma Frost being properly - er, improperly - attired; the chess game. That implies a certain feeling for the X-Men. On the other hand, I was horrified by what earlier movies did with the female characters, and this is a movie without the beautiful and talented Hugh Jackman.
Out in June, they say. Well. Something to look for.
