The Back-up Plan...
Jan. 8th, 2011 10:33 pmThe Back-up Plan is a romantic comedy with Alex O'Loughlin, which Marion and Vicky brought over this afternoon. Enjoyable, but the plot is slight: I kept wanting to give the two protagonists a shake and tell them to talk to each other. Most of the jokes are about babies and parenthood. I kept hoping for a strong climax or a bit more depth, but hey, no need for that... And Jennifer Lopez as the female lead wore some of the ugliest clothes I've ever seen in a movie, I think. Each outfit worse than the last.
Though billed as a romantic comedy, I think I'd reclassify it as a domestic comedy. Zoe and Stan were together through much of the movie, and though there was doubt as to whether they'd stay together, the whole focus was on the implications of pregnancy, and how they'd cope with being parents.
We also watched Moonlight 1x04 ("Fever") over again, because we liked it.
