Day #10: Your favourite costume.

Generally speaking, I like the plainer costumes. And I come to like the costumes worn by characters I most like, which makes sense. Like the one Black Widow wears:



That pattern of the plain bodysuit with a bit of accent or design - the kind of thing worn by Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, Cyclops, and numerous other heroes - is my favourite type of costume. Note the absence of capes.

Then there's the trench coat brigade. The name was coined by and for DC heroes (by Neal Gaiman), but there are equivalent characters at Marvel, and I love them: Pete Wisdom (who also wore short jackets), Nick Fury, even Jubilee, whose coat was bright yellow. And classically, Gambit, who had a pink costume with silver and black trim, rather anomalously, under a brown trench coat. It's a bizarre costume, but he gave it considerable flair.



I also like the kind of costume that involves a red cape with a blue (or dark) tunic worn underneath. Thor, designed by Jack Kirby, is the prototype at Marvel:

I like that one so much, I once made the costume for myself, and wore it on numerous suitable occasions.
