I was looking at this website, and the text begins: "There are some places in the world where living on a rock doesn’t carry a negative connotation." I assume it's written by an American - what is the negative connotation?

I can understand that living under a rock would be a bad thing...

I've always thought it would be heavenly to live on a rock in Georgian Bay. In summer, anyway.

I'd hope to visit Mont St-Michel when I was in France this year. Maybe next time.
