Photos on a November afternoon...
Nov. 23rd, 2010 03:47 pmI love this time of year, just when late autumn is turning into winter. I thought for a few days - yesterday, for instance - that winter had come, but no: today was lovely, sunny and mild.
I occurred to me that I'd have few more days for good photos before the snow sets in, so I went out with my camera.
Photos of the day:
1. Stones and leaves on the ground, utside my apartment building, between wall and sidewalk.

2. The duck pond, drained for winter.

3. Dandelion in the grass. I love it when there are little bits of colour still fighting to remain among the brown leaves and grey skies.

4. Men working on the canal. I don't know what they are doing, except getting it ready for winter, when the canal transforms itself into a skating rink three miles long.

5. Looking at the water's edge, in the drained Rideau Canal. Many footprints in the mud.

6. A tree and a street lamp..

7. This is merely a building on Queen Elizabeth Drive, but it always makes me think of Doctor Strange's house, particularly as drawn by Steve Ditko.

8. Pink flowers, still alive after sub-zero weather and pelting rain. I love the tenacity of growing things.
