A Game of Thrones...
Nov. 18th, 2010 04:50 pmMy comments, picture by picture:
Picture #1: I wondered why Jon Snow looked so dorky. It must be the mustache, but his hair is... not military. He doesn't look tough. Mind you, this is the very young Jon Snow: this gives him a point to work from before he becomes the knight-warrior of the Wall. Aside from the hair, the casting of those in this picture looks good.
Picture #2: Looks good. I can't tell from the photo which set of people this is. Starks? Lannisters? Night's Watch?
Picture #3: In this picture, Mark Addy looks a too soft to be Robert Baratheon, but then again, the point of the story is that Robert is getting soft with time and troubles. I can't help thinking of Asterix and Volstagg, looking at this picture - brilliant characters, both of them, but not the way Robert Baratheon ought to be.
Picture #4: Lena Headey. I swoon. I didn't know if I'd like her as a wicked bitch with blonde hair, but I need have no worries. It's Lena Headey. I love her euphemistic description of Cersei Lannister as "complex". Well, so she is.
Picture #5: Jaime Lannister. My goodness. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau looks perfectly gorgeous. This casting, I like. He'll get sexy scenes with Lena Headey: nice thought.

Picture #6: Eddard Stark, yes, but who is the other character in the picture? In this particular shot, the castle wall looks as if it's made out of cardboard.
Picture #7: Isaac Hempstead-Wright looks terrific as Bran before his fall, though doesn't he look a little more mature than he should? More like 8 or 9 than 5 or 6? And Jon Snow looks so... boyish? Girlish? I don't know, but he looks like a Shakespearean comedy role.
Picture #8: Emilia Clarke is Dani... Looking here a little more like Rima the Jungle Girl than Daenerys Targaryen, and not what I pictured from the books - too much of a waif, perhaps? I was imagining Dami as rather fine-boned, elegant, a bit of a Natalie Portman type.
Picture #9: Tyrion. I think he'll be terrific.
Picture #10: When did Caitlyn Stark have a scene with Tyrion? And who's the man standing behind her?
Why does it say "picture 10 of 11" and then there are no more pictures? Did we lose one?
