Paris aujourd'hui..

Eating clafouti aux cerises and drinking Lady Grey Tea as I sort my photos today. A busy, delightful day of sightseeing in Paris. I took one of the tour buses with Tasia and rosiespark, then left them at the Opera and went to see an exposition of arte des bandes desinees. Then walked around the Bois de Vincennes, and watched another episode of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. with cerulean_cat and baronjanus. Ducks on the pond, sunlight on the trees...

1. Cleaning Notre-Dame. Someone has to keep those kings clean, with their heads intact and their draperies elegant.

3. The Arche de Triomphe in the Champs-Elysees.

5. A beggar in the street, and his dog - an elegant street and an even more elegant door.



6. Tasia and rosiespark got off the tour bus when I stayed on.



7. You can see the Eiffel Tower from the Louvre.



8. The pyramid at the Louvre, which makes me think of The Da Vinci Code, God help me.



9. Booksellers along the Seine.



10. A gorgeous half-naked man sunning himself by the Seine.



11. The Bibliotheque Forney, where I went for the comic book art exhibit. Which was amazing, and not just because it was in a beautiful Renaissance building.

13. At the Place de la Bastille, I came across thousands of striking French demonstrators, chanting, shouting, and making a terrific noise.



14. After the crowded streets of Paris, the Bois de Vincennes, with its artificial lake, its ducks and its lovely trees, was a welcome haven.
