Because we could, we watched the two-part season 2 ender of Fringe and then tonight's episode, which I loved. Poor Olivia, trapped in a world she never made.
- There has clearly been messing with minds, or at least, Olivia Prime has been given some of Earth-2 Olivia's memories and thoughts. And it seems Earth-2 Olivia is good enough to fool Peter, though they don't seem to have spent much time together since crossing back. Will Earth-2 Olivia turn on her people, if she comes to love Peter? Then where would that leave our Olivia? Is our Olivia only pretending to think she's the other Olivia, because she needs to fit in, and infiltrate? Will Peter or Walter (or Broyles) catch on that this isn't Olivia, really? Or perhaps there was no switch, perhaps Alternate-Walter is pulling a massive switch whereby each Olivia is in her own world but each thinks she is not....
- Loved the cabbie.
- I expected pyrotechnics from Olivia. Didn't get them. Expected a daring escape, and did get that.
- The hit Broadway musical Dogs. I'm getting a kick out of that kind of thing. I hope for more comic book references.
- How wonderful to have Charlie back - a version of him, anyway. Loved he scene where she confronted him at the gas station, and didn't shoot him.
- Loved some of the visuals of the other world, and the things they did with lights.
- Where is the alternate Nina?
- The scene with the psychiatrist reminded me very much of the scene between Cordelia and the military psychiatrist in Shards of Honour. I wanted Olivie to dunk the woman in a fish tank.
- Love the amber-quarantine effect.
- Loved it that the scary thumping sound in the house turned out to be the dog's tail.
- Who is Frank? Does he have a doppelganger in our world? What does the tattoo mean?
- So many questions!
maaboroshi wondered how the alternate Olivia could have opened the door between universes, when she was never dosed with cortexaphan. Possibilities: (1) she was dosed with coretxaphan, just like our Olivia; (2) the ability is innate in both Olivias; (3) the Olivias were not switched, they just thought they were; (4) Bell was able to open the door himself somehow; (5) it's all a trick or illusion.
