Mixed feelings. My friends were bored with the episode and I didn't get to concentrate on it very much. I liked Jor-El being on Earth. I really liked Louise -a Barbie doll if I ever saw one.

I thought the episode was beautiful visually.

I liked the Luthor bits - yes, everyone was quiet for those scenes.

I liked seeing Hiram Kent and Mayor Tate. Loved seeing Tate get his comeuppance.

But... there wasn't enough of the characters I like and love: Clark, Chloe, Martha. Not enough of Clark and Lex interacting.

I like the notion that Jor-El could wander to Earth and then leave, practically at will.

That makes me wonder, if Jor-El could just *blip* home, why did they have to send Kal-El in a ship? Was the cave some kind of doorway

Theimpression I got from the episode was that Jor-El had some kind of transporter-beam thing happening. Maybe when Krypton was exploding they couldn't make that kind of thing happen any more? Maybe it doesn't work on babies?

I can understand that, about the transporter thing. But how do you explain the ship? Its obviously small enough only for a baby, which implies it was made for Kal-El. Unless the ship has the ability to shrink-wrap to size...

I've always thought the ship had the ability to take on the appearance, shape, and nature it wished. Which means, of course, that it isn't destroyed - you can't destroy something with malleable physical properties by blowing it up.

Yeah, I think the Brave Little Ship is hanging around in a sort of noncorporeal form. It could be a ship again if it wanted, but currently there's no need.

Especially if they can still access the ship via the caves that no one seem sto be interested in anymore.

Which is in itself interesting. Dr. Walden is dead; has Lex given up his curiosity? Lionel seems to like the caves as a rendezvous with Chloe. I wonder how we'll see them used next.
