Friday five....
Oct. 24th, 2003 10:17 amFrom The Friday Five. They don't have five questions this week, but they did a year ago, so I went back to Oct. 25 2002:
1. What is your favourite scary movie?
I usually avoid scary movies. My favourite.... The Sixth Sense.
2. What is your favourite Halloween treat?
Parties. They are an excuse for costuming, for one thing.
3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween Costume.
I do when I have the opportunity and excuse. My favourite Halloween Costume was my Dr. Strange costume.... which I made back in 1982. I wore that costume many times, to many parties. I did make many other costumes, of course, but that was always my favourite and the most comfortable.
4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?
Yes. I can't recall ever having been to a haunted house, though I am happy to be working in a haunted theatre. The three great spooky events I recall were all walks:
5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?
I'd like to, but I can't think of any good excuse, and don't have anything planned. I'll be in Toronto, and will probably have to behave like a respectable person.

Yes. I can't recall ever having been to a haunted house, though I am happy to be working in a haunted theatre. The three great spooky events I recall were all walks:
- The Jack the Ripper Anniversary Walk. London, England, 1976. We went on a guided walk at midnight through the East End to see the sites of the Ripper murders - on the anniversary of the last of his murders.
- The Haunted New Orleans Walk. Daytime, but full of ghosts and voodoo and spooky stories. I loved the New Orleans graveyards. I love graveyards and enjoy walking in them, especially in foreign cities. (I hate to think I have something in common with Lana Lang.)
- The Haunted Ottawa Walk. Not as exotic as New Orleans (and not as much fun), but nicely spooky. I particularly like the ghost in the Chateau Laurier - the owner, who went down with the Titanic.
