While doing arm exercises this morning, I watched the pilot episode of Warehouse 13, "Time Will Tell". I wasn't smitten, but enjoyed it well enough. The big problem? It never really caught my attention; it never made me suspend my disbelief.

What I liked:

  1. Saul Rubinek
  2. Mrs Frederick
  3. The concept - the idea of focusing on the warehouse as in Indiana Jones
  4. Joanne Kelly as Myka Bering. Because she reminded me of Laura Holt, except with better hair. I loved her hair.

What I disliked:

  1. The concept - too many bits and pieces of other shows. The Indiana Jones idea is obvious, but it reminded me from scene to scene of too many other shows, and nothing seemed original.
  2. Too much comedy, too little tension.
  3. I liked Peter Lattimer just fine, as written, but I didn't like the actor playing him (Eddie McClintock) or the style in which he played him. It didn't help that his first scene struck me as sleazy.
  4. I think I'm going off fantasy. Thank goodness it wasn't vampires! But what it was... didn't interest me much, either. Too much magic zapping. Too little attention to truth. Lucretia Borgia "set off a reign of terror" in the Renaissance? She did not! With or without a magic barrette.
